Artist Statement: I am an artist, musician, and songwriter. I live in the scenic hills of Upstate New York and see incredible beauty each day. My art reflects, quite literally, the wonder found in my own backyard and farm ‘Bittersweet Ridge’. Capturing a fleeting moment of light with my camera, or drawing a wildflower in the forest, is a way of noting daily miracles and a good exercise in counting blessings. It is also a form of praise.
I am an equestrian and have owned and ridden horses most of my life. On horseback, I don't just enter the natural world, I become part of it. It's an inside view. Developing this insight influences the way I coexist, create art, approach life, and connect with others.
Art has always been a natural part of my story. It helps me process life events and is a wonderful form of expression. At times, it has been a form of meditation and healing. It fosters community and camaraderie. It brings things full circle.
